Aronia has the highest antioxidant content among all types of berries and other fruits studied so far. Aronia juice is therefore the greatest source of antioxidants in nature, so it can be consumed on a daily basis, as the body needs more antioxidants than it consumes on average daily with a normal diet. The measure indicating the ability of antioxidants to neutralize free radicals from the body (ORAC – Oxygen Radical Absorbence Capacity) is expressed in micromoles per 100 grams of fruit.
